TedEd Lesson: Nonverbal Communication and Cultural Diversity

Reflections:

  • The Google Slides can be made with better design for visual attractiveness, for example, more colors, fewer words;
  • In a Learning Management System such as Canvas, the lecture video is embedded with the tool offered by the system (e.g. Techknowmia), and more activities can be edited in;
  • Throughout the 15 mins video, there should be some interactions with Q & A time, or quick quiz time, or at least some interval activity to break the monotony;
  • TedEd lesson and Book Creator are used for team/Group work, but the process needs better strategies to ensure all participants’ balanced participation and involvement;
  • Absorb-Do-Connect: “Connect” is weak if no effective facilitation is offered to ensure team discussion and project, so teacher’s presence is important.
